“Dirk Kroll crafts storied songs that take you somewhere. THE DIRK KROLL BAND delivers them. ”
DIRK KROLL moved from Southern California to Metro-Detroit at a young age with both a Sonny Rollins and an Eddie Cochran album in tow. In no time, he fell in love with the Motown sound showcasing the power of strong vocal delivery with fantastic melodies. Kroll's songs are influenced by early British Pop-Rock from across the Atlantic and back, Blues, Funk, Ska and elements of Americana. Holding several Detroit Music Award nominations over the years and awarded Outstanding Rock /Pop Songwriter for the 2020 Detroit Music Awards, Kroll continues to compose songs regularly and fronts the DIRK KROLL BAND. He is joined by Rodney Walker on guitar, Scott Culling on drums, Adam Brode on bass, Jim Amann on keyboards, Marci Feldman, vocals and Robert Reeves on horns. Together, they present storied songs that take you somewhere.
Late December 2020, a challenging time during a pandemic, brought a fresh release of 4 songs for an EP titled "Would It Be the Same" available on digital release.
"Composed of veterans of the Detroit music scene, DKB are a ragtag group of well-seasoneDd musicians at the top of their game. "Living Inside" offers an appealing mix of moody blues, surf rock guitar and the pop sensibilities of peak Elvis Costello. The album plays like your favorite record, the one that you found in the back of a vinyl shop and bought on a whim". Lianna Trimble, Total Traffic Network
